Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Popcorn collects your Apple account identifier and email address for authentication and account support.

Popcorn stores the content you create in the app, including projects, titles, descriptions, genres, characters, locations, scenes, props, relationships, documents, chats, saved movie preferences, and usage counts. You may also upload images or videos.

When you use voice conversations, microphone audio, transcripts, and relevant project context may be sent to voice providers to power the conversation.

How we use data

Data is used only for authentication, providing app functionality, AI features, customer support, security, enforcing quotas, and service reliability.

AI features and data sharing

Data may be processed by the following providers:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple and diagnostics.
  • Supabase — authentication, database, server functions, and media storage.
  • OpenAI — text chat, image analysis, and realtime voice conversations.
  • fal.ai and selected model providers — recommendations and image generation.
  • TMDB — movie and television metadata.
  • YouTube — only when you choose to open embedded video content.

Personal data, prompts, project context, images, audio, or transcripts are sent to AI providers only after you give explicit consent. You can withdraw AI consent at any time in Popcorn's Profile Settings. Doing so blocks future AI requests without deleting your existing projects.

Tracking and advertising

Popcorn does not track users across apps or websites. Popcorn does not use data for advertising and does not sell personal data.

Retention and deletion

Data is retained while your account is active and only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, satisfy legal obligations, prevent abuse, and resolve disputes.

You can delete your account from Profile Settings inside the app. Account deletion removes your Supabase account, stored project data, stored media, local data, and associated credentials, subject to any legally required retention.

Third-party processors

Third-party processors are required to protect your data consistently with this policy and applicable law.
